Protect the TOTP setup key

Your setup key can generate future codes and should be treated like a password. This app saves it in the browser’s local storage so it can restore the code generator. Clearing the key in the app removes that saved value from this browser.

Advertising scripts

Advertising scripts are not loaded unless you allow optional advertising. When allowed, those scripts execute in the same page as the generator and may be able to access information in that page, including a key stored in local storage. Reject advertising if you do not want these third-party scripts to run. For high-value or work accounts, use an authenticator app or hardware security key approved by the account provider.

Accuracy and account security

The generator supports Base32 TOTP secrets and produces six-digit SHA-1 codes on a 30-second interval. Wrong keys, an inaccurate device clock, or different settings at the account provider can result in rejected codes. The tool does not create, recover, or verify account credentials and is not affiliated with Google, Microsoft, Authy, or other account providers.

Retain recovery codes and follow the account provider’s security instructions. Never share a one-time code or setup key with another person.
