Where to find your Instagram 2FA secret key

Instagram shares the same Accounts Center as Facebook. The key appears when you (re)enable the authentication-app method:

  1. In Instagram, open Settings and activity → Accounts Center → Password and security.
  2. Open Two-factor authentication and pick your Instagram account.
  3. Select Authentication app and continue. Instagram shows a QR code.
  4. Tap the manual-entry link (wording varies: “enter key manually” / “can’t scan?”) to reveal the setup key as text.

If you previously set up 2FA with an app, Instagram does not re-display the old key — remove the authentication-app method and add it again to get a fresh key (a new key invalidates the old one, so update any other app that holds it).
